We’ve had two Presidential debates and one Vice-Presidential debate spanning 4.5 hours of air time and have, so far, only basically discussed the current economic trouble, socialized medicine and the War on Terror.
It’s no secret that the media is letting the electorate down in 2008. They have, for the most part, abandoned the American people to jump on board the Obama bandwagon, leaving reason and fairness in the dust.
Tonight’s debate, at the Obama campaign’s behest, is being framed as “John McCain’s last chance.” Down in the polls and being drowned out by the mainstream media, it may well be.
More so, however, tonight is the left-stream media’s last chance to prove that they are capable of performing their duty as the 4th branch of the US Government. And, after the abject failure of Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill and Tom Brokaw to do so, it is upon CBS “journalist” Bob Schieffer’s shoulders whether or not the media emerges from the evening with any sliver of credibility.
Will life issues be raised tonight, or are they off limits due to Obama’s abmoninable record? How about gun issues? Obama’s questionable past and present alliances with terrorists and radicals?
Here are a couple more questions that would be asked by an objective media.
“Senator Obama, we seem to know everything about John McCain’s life but have heard almost nothing about your time at Columbia except that you sat in the library. Care to elaborate?”
“Senator Obama, what assurances can you give the public that you can actually accomplish any of the proposals you’ve outlined, as you’ve never accomplished any significant policy changes in the past.”
“Senator Obama, in 2004 your Trinity Church attendance was described as, ‘the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Trinity in the Brainerd neighborhood every week.’ Do you really expect us to believe you heard none of the anti-American or bigoted statements of your pastor, who has also been described as your ‘close confidant’?”
“Senator Obama, you’ve described Iran both as a ‘tiny country and not a serious threat‘ and also ‘a grave threat.’ Which is it, and why the change between the two postitions in just a few days?”
“Senator Obama, why did you give Kenyan despot Ralia Odinga over a million dollars and campaign for him on the taxpayer dime?”
