I thought it was a little odd that UK’s Daily Mail went with a story painting a claim I’d never before seen made as a “smear”: That Barack Obama got a little too involved with a female aide to his 2004 Senate campaign for angry Michelle’s liking, resulting in angry Michelle sending the woman packing off to the Caribbean.
Now Ace is saying that the story is real, and is set to break through either mainstream outlets or, if they decide they need a little cover before touching it, secondary outlets. Either way, it sounds imminent.
Word is that this isn’t just your general “man cheats on wife” story, either. It runs much more deeply than the alleged sexual relationship, involving the shady Chicago political machine and heavy doses of Democrat corruption.
The woman was, apparently, a bundler for the campaign and heavy-hitting fundraiser for Democrats in general before suddenly being “disappeared” to the islands in the midst of a successful Washington DC career.
Ace is saying that there’s an additional “twist.”
I wouldn’t even hint about it, really, even if permitted to, because it’s so delicious it makes it nearly fantastical — in the sense of “No one gets this lucky!” — and actually would be used to denigrate the rest of it. But there is a chance it gets more interesting than even the Chicago Machine connection.
Indications are that this is not coming from the McCain camp. Clearly, if hitting the guy too hard on terrorist connections is a concern for McCain, this is not his style.
This, apparently, first became an issue during the primary campaign. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hill and Bill had one last trick up their sleeves to preserve an open field for Hillary in 2012.
This, along with apparent movement in the polls over the past couple days and McCain’s plans for a $160 million post-debate ad blitz, could mean something.
Ace’s sources are usually good. Because the people would not stop posting her alleged name in the comments, Ace has now deleted the post.
