The Barack Obama campaign announced today that a “Last Chance For Change” concert, hosted by NBA player LeBron James and Rapper Jay-Z, will be held in Cleveland, Ohio next week.
Jay-Z has been out working hard for Obama, and has been rewarded with an official role hosting a concert to benefit the candidate.
Jay-Z’s dedicated campaigning for Obama includes dedicating a performance of his hit “99 Problems” to the opposing McCain / Palin ticket just a few days ago.
For the uninitiated, here are a few lines from “99 Problems:”
[Chorus]
99 Problems but a bitch ain’t one
if you havin girl problems
i feel bad for you son
I got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one hit me
Charming.
Jay-Z’s dedication of the positive song that was written and performed to promote hope, change and usher in a new era of post-partisan post-racial harmony came at a concert for recent plane crash survivor DJ AM.
Without naming names, Jay dedicated “99 Problems” to John McCain and a certain “homegirl,” whom he described as “the one who says ‘You betcha.’ ”
“I’m gonna get in trouble for this,” Jay laughed onstage, “but f— it, this is freedom of speech.”
Yep – that’s the change we need. Obviously, Barack Obama approves that message.
