Final Battleground Poll: Zero 50.2% – Hero 48.3%

The Battleground poll, non-partisan because it is run by a Democrat pollster and Republican pollster who cancel each other out, shows Barack Obama going in to election day with a slim lead over John McCain.

Considering that spread, it is entirely possible (likely, even) that we could see a McCain Electoral College victory.  Obama leads heavily populated California by 20+ and heavily populated New York by 25+.  No matter how badly McCain gets trounced in CA and NY, he gets only 86 Electoral votes out of them.

For John McCain to be within 1.9% nationally, it shows he is making up ground in a lot of states.

A Promising Sign Out Of Plumstead Township?

The Intelligencer is reporting massive turn out in a traditionally Republican area of Bucks County.

Here’s a first: Traffic on Route 313 between Quakertown and Doylestown was slowed down this Tuesday morning because of the election. Turnout was so large at the Baptist church along the highway that Plumstead Township police were directing traffic in and out of the parking lot. Cars started backing up on the east side of Dublin. Traffic on Route 313 in that area has been backed up for any number of reasons – school buses, accidents, etc. – but never for voters.

I’m having trouble finding Bucks County’s 2004 Presidential Results by municipality (does anyone still have the PDF?).  This particular precinct (Plumstead 4) saw only about 850 voters visit the polls and went to Fitzpatrick over Murphy by just a few votes in 2006.

This may be one of the areas of Bucks where heavy turnout is a positive for Republicans.  If you’re from that area, feel free to weigh in on this analysis as I’m admittedly more familiar with voting patterns here in Lower Bucks.

Here it is, my final (until I change my mind) projection of the outcome of the 2008 Election. It’s based on polls, on watching the bias in polls, on Obama’s historical over-polling before actual votes are cast, on cursory knowledge of historical turn out ratios, and on a whole lot of gut.

McCain Voter Intimidation and Irregularity Hotline

Program the number 866-976-VOTE (866-976-8683) into your cell phone before venturing out to your polling place tomorrow.  This is the McCain / Palin voter information line, as well as the tip line to report “instances of irregularities at the polls, including voter fraud, intimidation, violence and electioneering.”

ARLINGTON, VA — The McCain-Palin campaign launched the Honest and Open Election hotline to help citizens learn the location of their polling place, as well as report any instances of irregularities at the polls, including voter fraud, intimidation, violence and electioneering. The hotline can be accessed via phone at: 866-976-VOTE.

“With the tomorrow’s election, our Honest and Open Election hotline will serve as an informative guide for all Americans participating in the electoral process,” said McCain-Palin National Political Director Mike DuHaime. “The hotline will allow us to learn about and take steps toward remedying any voter irregularities at polling places across the country. While we are hopeful that Election Day will be free of any wrongdoing, allies of the Democrat Party, such as ACORN, have shown a willingness to commit fraud in both this election cycle and in 2004. Given the tightness of the polls, all examples of fraud must be addressed to preserve the integrity of the election.”

In 2004, multiple forms of voter fraud occurred, including voter intimidation, fraudulent registrations, multiple ballots cast and votes bought for money. Already during the 2008 election cycle, a dead woman in Missouri cast an absentee ballot, individuals were arrested for voting twice in Florida and people in Ohio registered and voted on the same day.

It would also not be a bad idea to charge up the video camera or make sure you have space on your cell phone for video storage.  I plan to bring a camera to my polling place on the off chance that I see any ACORNish wrongdoing.

On Election Day, Patrick Murphy Must Go. Elect Tom Manion.

Democrat Patrick Murphy was never meant to represent Pennsylvania’s Eighth US Congressional District but, through happenstance, left-wing funding and the good fortune of having a sliver of Philadelphia included in the district that represents Bucks County in Congress, he was accidentally elected in 2006.  This is a mistake that needs to be corrected in 2008.

Tom Manion is a born leader and a private citizen who was inspired to participate in governing and run for Congress when his son was tragically killed in Iraq.  Manion brings years of military and private sector experience to the task, and his views match the values of Bucks County voters.

Patrick Murphy has proven to be a rubber stamp for the far-left radical ideals and agenda of House Speaker and San Francisco representative Nancy Pelosi. Their records and values are joined at the hip.  Bucks County and San Francisco are not the same. Why do the representatives of these areas share an agenda?

Murphy is wrong on the war, wrong on taxes, wrong on energy.  We are not represented in Congress by Patrick Murphy.  Patrick Murphy represents another vote for San Francisco in Congress.  Bucks County deserves a vote and voice in Congress all our own.

Defeat Patrick Murphy.  Elect Tom Manion.

Cold Obama “Couldn’t Get In Touch With” Illegal Alien Aunt

CBS has provided about 30 seconds of Katie Couric speaking to Barack Obama about his illegal alien Aunt and illegal campaign donor Zeituni Onyango book-ended by 45 seconds of commercials.

There’s something not right with this guy. He’s just found out that an aunt he spoke lovingly about in his autobiography is an illegal alien at risk of being deported back to Kenya, and all he can manage to do is recite his campaign’s official talking points in a dry and unemotional manner?

Where was the question about how letting a cherished aunt live in squalor, illegally in public housing, fits in with his stated goal to “spread the wealth around” and assertion in his nomination acceptance speech that we are all our brothers’ keepers?  Shouldn’t this multi-millionaire and potential Redistributor-in-Chief be asked about his own selfishness when it comes to giving a hand up to his family?

And we’re expected to believe that one of the two men who will be our next president found it impossible to contact a relative even after the (British) press found her address?

If the campaign has been unable to contact Aunt Zeituni, how did they gag her?

Speaking outside her home in Flaherty Way, South Boston, on Tuesday, Ms Onyango, 56, confirmed she was the “Auntie Zeituni” in Mr Obama’s memoir. She declined to answer most other questions about her relationship with the presidential contender until after the November 4 election. “I can’t talk about it, I just pray for him, that’s all,” she said, adding: “After the 4th, I can talk to anyone.”

They could just look at the address she provided when she made her illegal donations and go from there.
