O’Reilly Factor ‘Smears’ Hot Air Using Comments?

In the regular “Policing the Net” segment of last night’s O’Reilly Factor, Bill O’Reilly used the example of a comment from the blog Hot Air to show the treatment Obama Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor is receiving from “bloggers.”

When I first read about this on a few conservative sites, I was angry.  Then I actually watched the segment (video below).

Sotomayor: Enemy Of The First Amendment

A recent ruling by Obama Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor’s Second Circuit Court of Appeals denies the free speech rights of a Connecticut high school student and flies in the face of Supreme Court precedent on the exact issue it addresses.

Ignoring the Constitution and ruling based on personal whim (or “empathy”) seems fairly common for Judge Sotomayor, whose decisions are overturned 60% of the time when reviewed by the US Supreme Court according to analysis.

Stimulus Fail: $787 Billion Disaster Costs 1,597,000 Jobs

Failed President Barack Obama’s $787 billion stimulus boondoggle has cost the United States economy nearly 1.6 million jobs in its first one hundred days.  Yet Obama, fiddling like Nero as the embers fall down around him, brags that the disasterous spending plan has “saved or created almost 100 – 150,000 jobs” without detail or evidence.

As noted in the graphic below, Barack Obama said today that his stimulus created or saved “nearly 100 – 150,000” jobs.  About a month ago, he claimed that it created or saved “over 150,000 jobs.”  So in a month, the number of jobs “saved or created” has gone DOWN from “over 150,000″ to “nearly 150,000.”

Later, at a tony California fundraiser held in the midst of the worst economic crisis in decades, Obama falsely claimed, “It’s safe to say we have stepped back from the brink.”

If the quickening pace of unemployment, home value devastation, interest rate spikes, government control of private industry, debt and misery signifies stepping “back from the brink,” it makes one wonder what this tool’s definition of “back” is.

Obama Will Nominate Sonia Sotomayor To Supreme Court

Sonia Sotomayor

Various media reports indicate that failed President Barack Obama will nominate Sonia Sotomayor to replace Justice David Souter on the Supreme Court.

Sotomayor was among a handful of possible nominees floated by the administration, which indicated it wanted to fill the post with not with the most scholarly legal mind or reasonable jurist but rather someone with “empathy.”

Sotomayor not only believes that it’s fair and just for a judge to allow their sex and personal history to dictate the legal decisions they hand down, she “hopes” it happens that way.
