Holocaust Museum Shooter May Have Targeted ‘Weekly Standard’

Despite attempts by the left and, to be redundant, the media to characterize Holocaust Museum shooter James von Brunn as a “right winger,” evidence has emerged that von Brunn railed against FOX News and Rupert Murdoch and may have targeted conservative publication The Weekly Standard as part of a broader shooting plan.  This is in addition to yesterday’s revelations that von Brunn was a “9/11 Truther” who believed the 9/11 attacks were an inside job and also held deep disdain for George Bush and John McCain.

BREAKING: Three Wounded In DC Holocaust Museum Shooting

Reports are surfacing that three have been wounded at a shooting at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Initial reports indicate that the attacker, who brandished a rifle shotgun, and at least one guard are among the injured. Reports indicate the third injured party was wounded by flying glass.  Later reports mention the guard and the shooter being wounded, but fail to mention anyone injured by glass.

The incident occurred at about 12:50 PM ET.

Amanda Carpenter reports via Twitter that the unnamed assailant is under arrest.  CBS News headlines that the shooter was an “87-year-old” white supremacist, but their article on the shooting does not yet contain this information.

UPDATE: CBS News still headlines with the “white supremacist” angle, article just says the shooter “wanted to return a book.”  Jake Tapper Twitters: “if the shooter is who we think he is (checking) he has written some nasty ugly anti-Semitic filth”

UPDATE: Times Online (UK) names the shooter as James W Von Brunn and lists his age as 89. Most sites with any reference to him appear to be experiencing traffic problems. Here’s the Google Cache of Ask Art’s listing for James W Von Brunn born 1920, which shows a painting credited to someone by that name.  Here’s the Google Cache of a hate filled screed credited to James W Von Brunn regarding the Holocaust. If this is the shooter, I fail to see how his writings qualify him as “Right Wing” per se.  In addition to being anti-Semitic, he is vehemently anti-Christian (well, anti anything that’s not his narrow version of Christian) as well.

The only truly political thing I see in his background is that he was vehemently against the Federal Reserve and conducted some action against them in 1981. From what seems like a loving bio at a related site that I won’t link to.

In 1981 Von Brunn attempted to place the treasonous Federal Reserve Board of Governors under legal, non-violent, citizens arrest.

Seems to be a lot of anti-Federal Reserve stuff going around these days too, and I’m not seeing it from those traditionally considered “Right Wing.”  Mostly Ron Paul types.  Is that what we’re considering “Right Wing” these days?

I’m seeing his name pop up a lot in connection with “9/11 Truthers,” but this could be just a coincidence and I’m still poking around that angle. (NOTE: Confirmed. Also very anti-Bush and McCain).

Now seeing that he was hit in the head.  Can’t say I’m broken up about it.

Can we now say we have a trend? Three politically motivated attacks in two weeks. People laughed when we used to say that George Bush kept us safe, but I don’t think it’s any great coincidence that we get this leftist “hands off” regime in the White House bringing us back to a 9/10/2001 footing and suddenly terror seems to be breaking out all over.
