From serious policy disagreements to grumblings about tone and attitude, the rift between Barack Obama and other Democrats seems to be deepening each day. Despite the LA Times’ attempt to tamp down the perception of a Democrat party divided, the Obama campaign is taking fire from all sides of the allegedly unified party.
Two Democrats Want Revamped Pennsylvania Constitution
Two Bucks County Democrats are calling for a $20,000,000 state constitutional convention they say will bring “true reform.” The state’s last constitutional convention was held in the late 1960s. This call for “true reform” comes just four days after 12 current and former Democrat lawmakers and staffers were indicted on charges related to using taxpayer funds to run political campaigns in the Bonusgate investigation.
Bush to Lift Offshore Drilling Ban
President Bush will lift the 18-year old Executive Order banning offshore oil drilling this afternoon, putting the ball squarely in Congress’ court to allow drilling for lower energy prices.
Obama: US Immigration Enforcement is Terrorism
Obama is so backward that he sees law enforcement as terrorism, and terrorism as a matter to be handled by law enforcement.
We’ll likely be lectured by Barack Obama that we’re just not listening properly, or told that the statement was “inartful” or “poorly phrased” or “taken out of context” by the end of the day. At the moment, though, Obama is on record likening Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to terrorists, and enforcement of US immigration law to terrorism.
Palin to McCain: Come See ANWR
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has invited presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain to see ANWR for himself.
Monday Morning Movie: Carbama
One of the things conservatives keep saying about Obama is that his Presidency would represent “Jimmy Carter’s Second Term.” That’s a funny line to those of us who remember Jimmy Carter’s first term. Jimmy Carter’s first term ended in 1981, 27-years ago. A generation of voters couldn’t pick Jimmy Carter out of a line-up.
Democrat Dissension on Display at Official Obama Site
The Los Angeles Times had trouble finding a rift in the Democratic Party ranks recently, publishing a tedious bit of feather smoothing to quell fears among the liberal masses that Barack Obama’s hard tack to the right was 1) sincere and 2) causing problems among supporters. The Obamessiah’s FISA vote, according to the Times, was no problem.
It turns out that the reason the Los Angeles Times was unable to find any supporters disappointed with Obama’s bait and switch act is that they were not looking in the right place. It was hiding in plain sight all along at Obama’s official web site.

Independents Drop Obama Like He’s Hot
Because I strongly disagree with the sampling process used by Newsweek in their Presidential polling (polling a split of Republicans and Democrats with no bearing to what exists in the country) I put absolutely no faith in their top line “McCain vs. Obama” number. It means nothing to me that Obama dropped 12 points in three weeks, from a 15 point lead to a 3 point lead, within the margin of error. It is, admittedly, amusing to watch the libs melt down over it, though.
