The Business and Media Institute has conducted a study focused on comparing the media’s coverage of unemployment figures in 1982 and 2009. Unsurprisingly, the media was overwhelmingly more negative about the rate in 1982 under a Republican president than in 2009 under a Democrat president and tied unemployment to the President’s policies twice as much in 1982 as in 2009.
