As of 5PM this afternoon, it appears that Verizon’s FiOS TV service is down in the Philadelphia area.
UPDATE: As of 5:40PM, users, including myself, are beginning to report that service is restored. There are still sporadic reports of continued local outages on various local message boards.
PREVIOUSLY: The outage seems to be effecting everyone served out of VHO-8, which is the Video Hub Office that serves the entire Philadelphia region. Users are seeing “This Channel Is Not Available” for every channel in the lineup.
According to one report, rebooting your Verizon DVR or Cable Box causes the box to go into an endless boot loop, so don’t do that. It’s not going to help anything.
