Uneducated Rubes Mock Sarah Palin Over Accurate Paul Revere Statement

A mass of uneducated rubes, and not only those from the left, mocked Sarah Palin over her statement that Paul Revere warned the British that the Patriots were awaiting their attack.

As it turns out, much to the consternation of those whose sole education on the subject is a children’s rhyme, Sarah Palin is correct.  That is, if Paul Revere’s own words are to be believed.

Conservatives4Palin found Revere’s own description of the events that occurred after his famous ride. Spelling from the original, bolding added by Conservatives4Palin.

I observed a Wood at a Small distance, & made for that. When I got there, out Started Six officers, on Horse back, and orderd me to dismount;-one of them, who appeared to have the command, examined me, where I came from,& what my Name Was? I told him. it was Revere, he asked if it was Paul? I told him yes He asked me if  I was an express? I answered in the afirmative. He demanded what time I left Boston? I told him; and  aded, that their troops had catched aground in passing the River, and that There would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up.

They are so scared of her it makes me wonder if I shouldn’t support a Palin candidacy.

I don’t pretend to be an expert on American History, but you know what? I know my limitations, and I’d STFU for a minute and research the subject before I jump down someone’s throat for saying something that might not jibe with my pop culture understanding American Revolutionary times.

  1. Memo says:

It’s doubtful she was aware of this particular course of events, and although her comment about having given information to the British also may be factually correct, her rambling and the other inaccuracies in her recounting make it clear she didn’t know what she was talking about. To try and defend her ineptitude is ludicrous.

Maybe someday you’ll teach the rest of us how to determine when people don’t know facts that they actually say out loud. Seems like it would be a hit at parties.

Subject: “The Mets won the 1969 World Series”
You: “Hey, you’re right but there’s no way you really know that.”
Subject: “Aww…you got me. That random fact just mysteriously came out of my mouth although I don’t know it.”

  2. Sea Cap'n says:

Palin said Revere was “ringin’ those bells” and had sent “warning shots.”

Doesn’t seem accurate according to history. Sorry.
