Had to check the calendar on this one. Nope, still March.
Dick Morris will take over Michael Smerconish’s afternoon talk show slot on Kamikaze Radio 1210 WPHT-AM starting April 15.
When asked, Morris initially predicted he’d win the time slot with a 25 share, but quickly upped that prediction to a 35 share after a few moments thought.
At this point, I feel like I should offer my services to the talk radio stations in the area, who are obviously very desperate. My show wouldn’t just preach to the choir, either. I know how to do it in a way that would actually bring in non-believers and make conservatism palatable to them. Hit me up, Program Directors. I’ve even got an FCC license around here somewhere, which pretty much proves I’d be good at it.
Morris first rose to fame as a Clinton pollster and the campaign manager for his 1996 reelection campaign. Then, during the 1996 Democrat convention, it came to light that Morris had let a prostitute listen in on phone conversations between Clinton and himself. He later reemerged as a Clinton critic, FOX News contributor and frequent guest on conservative talk radio and television.
Morris will be competing against his former FOX News BFF Sean Hannity, who hosts 3PM-6PM on newly minted ratings powerhouse 106.9 WWIQ-FM.
He’ll begin his hosting duties on April 15 (the same day Michael Smerconish is set to start his new show on SiriusXM), which will run from 2-6 p.m.
[T]he schedule will shift in Smerconish’s absence. Chris Stigall and Paige Powers will be on from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Dom Giordano takes 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Say this for WPHT; at least they’re moving in the right direction. They’re replacing a former Republican who turned into a namby pamby liberal with a former liberal who turned into a (somewhat buffoonish) Republican.
Will anyone actually listen to this? If I wanted to hear someone be wrong about politics I could just go stand by the deli at Giant for a couple of hours a day.
