Reuters kicked off this election year’s open season on the families of Republican candidates today by tying Mitt Romney’s wife Ann to a web site accused of promoting sex trafficking.
Romney’s connection to the site would make Kevin Bacon dizzy.
It seems that Ann Romney’s blind trust – over which she, by definition, has no control, and about which, also by definition, she has no knowledge – invested in Global Sachs mutual fund, which was invested in liberal news outlet Village Voice, which owns a web site called backpage.com, which is accused of trafficking underage prostitutes.
On the bright side, this is verification that the GOP nominating process is finally over.
I’m sure the media firestorm about Michelle Obama’s $63,000 a year no-show job is right about the corner.
[T]he disclosure highlights the difficulty for politicians and their families when they invest in blind trusts that are supposed to protect them from conflicts of interest and ethical questions.
I’m sure the Romneys appreciate your heartfelt concern.
