A small but growing group on Facebook looks to end Patrick Murphy’s tenure in the US House of Representatives when the Congressman is up for reelection in 2010.
On the surface, it shouldn’t be hard to do. Patrick Murphy campaigned and got elected as a fiscally conservative devout Catholic moderate but immediately fell in with Nancy Pelosi’s far-left wing of the party upon his arrival in Washington. Pelosi represents her radical San Francisco district appropriately, but that representation is not appropriate for Bucks County.
The so-called fiscal conservative voted to waste $787 in a failed stimulus, voted for the job-killing Cap and Trade bill that will cause Bucks County’s economy to shrink by $887 per year between 2012 and 2035, voted to keep federal funding for abortions in PelosiCare and then voted for the PelosiCare bill that will raise taxes $700 billion and cut $500 billion from Medicare.
The “good Catholic” spent more time this summer running around trying to get bath houses for military bases through the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” than he did talking to people in his district about their health care concerns. When he did bother to hold discussions, they were by telephone with questions screened by the local left-wing media. It didn’t matter anyway. In the end he ignored constituent concerns and voted for government-run health care like we knew he would. It’s what Nancy wanted.
Murphy is right in the middle of a huge campaign donation scandal with his “role model” John Murtha.
All of that is just since the last election. Like I said, on the surface, this guy should be gone next November. But it’s not going to be that easy. Just as Murphy is a lap dog for Nancy Pelosi, the local media is a lap dog for Murphy. We need grassroots, person to person communication spreading the word about Patrick Murphy’s hypocrisy and left-wing record.
