The Better Business Bureau has issued a statement confirming that Trump University’s final BBB rating was an A+.
The BBB says it was not the source of a document that Donald Trump handed to the debate panel during a commercial break at the most recent FOX News debate.
During the debate / ambush in Detroit, Little Marco Rubio lied about about the Trump course being rated D- by the Better Business Bureau. “Moderator” Megyn Kelly jumped in to assist Rubio in smearing Trump over the operation of this business, which is the subject of an ongoing lawsuit. Trump argued that the University wound up with an “A” rating from the Better Business Bureau, understating the actual rating, and offered to provide evidence to the panel of “moderators.” Trump appeared to hand a piece of paper to the “moderators” during a break, prompting social media speculation that it was a fax from the BBB confirming the higher, accurate rating.
The Trump campaign has never said what the paper was or where it originated.
NOTE: According to Trump in a video released since this report was initially published, the document handed to FOX was the accurate rating as printed out by his campaign.
The BBB confirms that the series of events surrounding the University’s rating matches Trump’s description.
[T]he Trump University BBB rating…was as low as D- in 2010. … [O]ver time, Trump University’s BBB rating went to an A in July 2014 and then to an A+ in January 2015.
This is exactly what Trump said happened. Little Marco should retract and then drop out.
