The Washington Examiner dug deep into the internals of a Washington Post poll – deeper, in fact, than the Washington Post cared to – and found that a whopping 46% of registered voters say they definitely will not vote for failed President Barack “AA+” Obama in 2012.
No campaign. No challenger. No hard-hitting ads. No nothing. Simply based on his poor performance, even as reported by an adoring liberal media, they just flat out won’t vote to re-elect Obama.
Ouch. Obama got almost 53% of the vote in 2008. Talk about a downgrade.
In all, 44% of all adults say they definitely won’t vote for Obama, and 20% of all adults say they definitely will vote for Obama. 30% are on the fence. Obama got nearly 53% of the vote in 2008.
More than 40 percent of Americans are also ready to call Obama a failure. Asked if “Obama has made progress” toward solving the major problems facing the country, 42 percent of Americans say Obama has “tried but failed.” Twenty-eight percent of Americans are even ready to say Obama “made problems worse.” Only 19 precent of respondents told The Post that Obama has “made progress.”
Despite Obama’s failure as president, the vast majority of Americans still have faith in the United States. Given the statement, “Whatever its faults, the United States still has the best system of government in the world,” 77 percent of Americans agreed.
